Overview of Research
The primary focus of ongoing research in the PRDD are the personality traits, behavioral characteristics, as well as social and emotional factors which contribute to the development, maintenance, and dissolution of romantic dating, and marital relationships.
These research projects explore a variety of intra-individual and psycho-social phenomena which include: personality traits, attachment styles, and commitment for their association and predictive value in understanding relationship outcomes. These outcomes include relationship satisfaction, dissolution and divorce. The association between personality and specific relational behaviors, such as infidelity and dishonesty, which contribute to overall relationship maintenance and dissolution are also explored.
